Los Angeles
Mostly known for its international celebrity status, for the artist the western seaboard of the United States presents some interesting challenges. The Pacific sea is cold, and the blue is Berlin Blue and Indigo. I’ve tried to capture this tonally. My “Santa Monica Pier” reflects the fun and exuberance of the place. The Big Sur coast, home to surfers and large sea animals, is dramatic and powerful.
